DRAGONFLY CANCER TRUST

Dragonfly Cancer Trust is a national UK charity dedicated to supporting children and young people facing a life-threatening cancer diagnosis. Working with patients up to the age of 25, as well as their families, hospitals, and hospices, the charity focuses on creating moments of comfort, connection, and treasured memories at a time when they matter most. Based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the Trust has grown from a small family-led organisation into a recognised force for change across the country.

Through memory making opportunities, keepsakes, and creative therapy, Dragonfly helps young people with terminal cancer spend meaningful time with loved ones and retain a sense of normality. From cash gifts and sibling boxes to personalised keepsakes and activity packs, each service is designed to brighten difficult days and leave families with something lasting to hold onto. Dragonfly continues to expand its reach and impact, ensuring more families across the UK receive the emotional support they need.

We are immensely grateful for the ongoing and wonderful support we continue to receive from Wentworth Grange in Northumberland. Their kindness and generosity make a real difference to the lives of the young people and families we support, and we are constantly inspired by their commitment to our cause.

NORTHUMBERLAND GREYHOUND RESCUE

Northumberland Greyhound Rescue, (registered since 2004), based at the 5 star Hawthorn Boarding Kennels, Coach Lane is dedicated to rehoming ex-racing greyhounds across Northumberland and the North East.  This charity is run by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to find new homes for the dogs when their racing career has finished.  NGR believe in the personal touch, finding out about the needs of each dog and matching them to their new forever homes. These loving, gentle, and actually lazy dogs just want to be loved and have their own family.

The charity also believe in raising awareness of greyhounds and how they make fantastic family pets when they finish racing. NGR hold events throughout the year, in addition to talks and supporting work in the community. The charity has rehomed over 2000 dogs since it first began and rehomes 80+ dogs approximately every year.  NGR are delighted to be supported by Wentworth Grange and regularly enjoy visits to meet everyone.
