At Wentworth Grange we regularly host a range of social events, some of which are aimed at raising funds for local charities. They are ‘ticketed’ events that are open to the families of our guests and the general public. All of our upcoming events are detailed below and will be updated on a regular basis - please be sure to keep checking here for further information.

Recurring Events:

Book Club - Every Monday at 3.00pm

Join us for Book Club every Monday and unwind with a drink while chatting about any books you're currently reading. A relaxed and friendly space to share ideas and reading recommendations. Places are free and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Gentle Seated Pilates - Every Tuesday, 11.00am

Join us for a gentle seated chair pilates session for older adults with mobility issues, followed by coffee, cake and socialising. Tickets cost just £5pp to non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com or by using the button at the bottom of this page. All proceeds will be donated to our two chosen charities. Additional beverages will be available to purchase from the bar.

Breath, Relax, Restore - Every Wednesday, 10.15am (Hampton House) & 3.00pm (Wentworth Grange)

Join us every Wednesday for a soothing session of mindfulness meditation and gentle music. It’s the perfect way to unwind, reset your mind, and reconnect with yourself.

Wellness Fridays - Every Friday, 3.00pm

Brought to you by our wellbeing associate, Nicola Foster of Crystal Clear Healing. Enjoy one of her relaxing treatments such as a hand massage, foot massage, manicure, pedicure, Reiki, Indian head massage, or shoulder & neck massage.

Charity Coffee Mornings - The First Tuesday of Every Month (Hampton House) & Last Tuesday of Every Month (Wentworth Grange) at 10:30am

Once a month we will be hosting a Charity Coffee Morning, from 10.30am. Tickets cost just £5pp, with all proceeds being donated to our two chosen charities - these are available by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com or by using the button at the bottom of this page.

Join us for an uplifting and creative session led by Unique Music, where music and movement come together to celebrate life at Wentworth Grange. Through songwriting, rhythm, and joyful expression, we reflect on everything that makes our home so special—from shared laughter and warm friendships to the little joys of daily life.
These musical afternoons are a heartfelt reminder of the community we’ve built together.

Lewis Hill – Friday 7th November, 5.30pm

Fireworks Night – Saturday 8th November, 5.00pm

Wrap up warm and join us for our Fireworks Night celebrations! Hot food and drinks will be available to purchase from The Street Diner, including burgers, loaded fries, soup, and beverages, followed by an amazing fireworks display at 6.00pm. This event promises great food, a lively atmosphere, and spectacular skies — all you need to bring is your sparkle!

British Army Veterans Talk – Tuesday 11th November, 2.30pm

We’ll be joined by the D Company OPFOR Demonstration Team, who will lead a fascinating talk and hands-on demonstration of military kit, weapons, and uniforms. Guests will be encouraged to interact with various pieces and hear the stories behind their use.

Afternoon Tea – Thursday 13th November, 4.30pm

Enjoy a delightful afternoon tea prepared by our fantastic team of chefs. Tuck into a selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes, cheeses, fruit and more, served with tea or coffee in our beautiful restaurant setting. The Hexham Uketeers – Tuesday 18th November, 3.00pm

Enjoy another musical afternoon with The Hexham Uketeers. Their lively ukulele performances are paired with light snacks provided by our team for a relaxed, feel-good event. Tickets are £10 for non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Greyhound Petting – Thursday 20th November, 2.30pm (Wentworth Grange & Hampton House)

Jenny returns with more greyhounds from Northumberland Greyhound Rescue for another relaxing afternoon of connection and companionship with these gentle dogs. Tickets are free and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

The Hexham Uketeers – Tuesday 2nd December, 3.00pm

Drumming Session – Thursday 4th December, 3.00pm

Join us for a festive drumming session hosted by Avery’s Angels. This interactive, holistic experience is designed to boost wellbeing and connection through rhythm and sound.

A Christmas Carol – Wednesday 10th December, 3.45pm

Bring the whole family for a magical performance of A Christmas Carol presented by the talented NorthEast Producers. Enjoy all the fun and festive spirit of traditional panto as we follow Scrooge on his journey through Christmases past, present and future. A heart-warming show full of ghosts, greed, goodwill and Christmas cheer!

Wreath Making – Thursday 11th December, 2.30pm

Christingle – Monday 15th December, 2.30pm (Wentworth Grange) & 3.15pm (Hampton House)

Winter Solstice Seated Pilates – Tuesday 23rd December, 10.00am (Hampton House) & 11.00am (Wentworth Grange)

Iris Thorpe – Tuesday 23rd December, 4.30pm

Join us for an afternoon of beautiful live piano from the amazing Iris Thorpe while you enjoy a delightful light afternoon tea. Live Singer: John Fletcher – Wednesday 24th December, 4.00pm (Hampton House) & 5.30pm (Wentworth Grange)

We’re inviting the families and friends of our residents to join us for a festive live performance by the talented John Fletcher. Performing classic Rat Pack hits made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., this show promises a nostalgic and feel-good celebration.

At Hampton House (4.00pm), enjoy the performance in a relaxed lounge setting.

At Wentworth Grange (5.30pm), guests will also be served nibbles and a glass of complimentary fizz to toast the occasion.

Christmas Day Lunch – 25th December, from 12.00pm (Hampton House & Wentworth Grange)

Join us for a delicious 3-course Christmas Day lunch with all the festive trimmings, topped off with a glass of fizz. A beautifully prepared meal to celebrate the day in warmth, comfort and good company.

New Year's Eve Lunch & Live Singer – Wednesday 31st December, 12.30pm

Chinese New Year Origami – Thursday 8th January, 2.30pm

Celebrate Chinese New Year with a themed origami session, guided by our host Lip Lee, who will also be sharing insights into traditional Chinese customs. No prior experience needed — all materials and equipment are provided.

Anything Goes – Wednesday 21st January, 3.00pm

We invite you to enjoy an afternoon of music by Hexham-based quartet Anything Goes. Sit back and relax with refreshments while listening to a variety of songs performed live.

Burns Supper – Sunday 25th January, 4.00pm

Our Chosen Charities

This year our fundraising will be supporting Heel & Toe Children’s Charity and Dragonfly Cancer Trust - two incredible charities.

Heel & Toe Children’s Charity

Heel & Toe Children's Charity provides a range of therapies to children with physical disabilities and complex needs at our centres in County Durham. Any child aged between 6 months to 19 years old from any part of the North East area is eligible to apply for a consultation. We provide Conductive Education, Hydrotherapy, Massage Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy. Our centres are open Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. Heel & Toe are not government funded and rely solely on donations and fundraising.

Dragonfly Cancer Trust

Dragonfly Cancer Trust work with specialist cancer treatment centres, hospitals, hospices and families across the UK providing support for young patients with terminal cancer who receive palliative treatment. Our focus is on memory making, helping young patients to make each moment matter with their loved ones. We do this by providing cash gifts, keepsakes and creative therapy. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are continuously inspired by the young people we support.
