Public Events

At Wentworth Grange we regularly host a range of social events, some of which are aimed at raising funds for local charities. They are ‘ticketed’ events that are open to the families of our guests and the general public. All of our upcoming events are detailed below and will be updated on a regular basis - please be sure to keep checking here for further information.

Recurring Events:

Knit & Natter – Every Monday, 3.00pm (except the first and last Monday of the month)

Join us for a cosy afternoon of knitting, chatting, and community. A welcoming and relaxed session for all abilities. This event is free for non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Hairdresser Visits – Every Monday

Join us every Monday for a visit to the on-site hairdresser. Whether it’s a fresh cut, a tidy trim, or a lovely blow-dry, this relaxed weekly service is a great way to feel refreshed and well looked after in a friendly setting.

Gentle Seated Pilates - Every Tuesday, 11.00am

Join us for a gentle seated chair pilates session for older adults with mobility issues, followed by coffee, cake and socialising. Tickets cost just £5pp to non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com or by using the button at the bottom of this page. All proceeds will be donated to our two chosen charities. Additional beverages will be available to purchase from the bar.

Guided Meditation - Every Wednesday, 3pm & Friday 2pm

Join us every Wednesday for guided meditation sessions designed to help you unwind, relax and reset in a calm and welcoming environment. It’s the perfect way to unwind, reset your mind, and reconnect with yourself.

Tastes of the World – Three Course Lunch - First Thursday of every month, 12.00pm

Join us for a ‘Tastes of the Worldthree course lunch prepared by our talented chefs. Each month will feature food inspired by a different country, offering something new to enjoy each time. Tickets are £16pp for non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Cheese & Wine - Last Thursday of Every Month, 4.30pm

Enjoy a relaxed monthly afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes, fruit, cheese, and tea or coffee — all freshly prepared by our talented chefs.

Smile Through Sport – Every Friday at 10.00am (Hampton House)

Join us weekly for Smile Through Sport, a movement-based activity designed to keep residents active and engaged. These fun and inclusive sessions are delivered in a relaxed group setting. Places are free and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com

Crochet & Chit Chat – Last Monday of the Month, 3.00pm

Come along and join Lynn as she teaches guests some basic crochet stitches to create a classic granny square. A relaxed and friendly session suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Beauty Room Treatments

Our beauty room offers a range of relaxing and wellbeing-focused treatments designed to help you unwind and feel refreshed. Treatments available include back massage, hand massage, feet massage, Indian head massage, reflexology, manicure, file and polish, fingernail trim, and reiki.
To arrange a treatment, please speak to a member of the wellbeing team.

Unique Music- Hampton House – Tuesdays at 1.30pm - 24/02, 10/03, 24/03, 07/04, 21/04.

Join us for an entertaining and inclusive music session with Gary Bowden of Unique Music. These sessions facilitate music and community arts activities for people of all ages and abilities, encouraging participation in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The Hexham Uketeers - Tuesdays at 3.00pm - 17/03, 14/04, 05/05, 16/06.

Hot Coffee and Cakes - Throughout March, April and May. Thursday 3rd to Thursday 10th April

Pop in and join us for spring-inspired coffee and cakes, including a special Easter-themed week in April. Enjoy a wonderful coffee and a delicious slice of cake for just £5. No booking is required – just pop in with friends or family and enjoy. Other hot beverages and refreshments will be available to purchase.

Bridge Club – Thursday 26th February, 10.30am

Join us for a fun bridge taster session hosted by Hexham Bridge Club. Learn some of the basics and relax amongst wonderful company—no previous experience is required, just come along and enjoy the games. Live Singer & Three Course Meal – Thursday 26th February, 1.15pm

We would like to invite families and friends of our guests to join us for a performance from the very talented Ian K Brown, singing songs by Elvis, Buddy Holly, and many more. Guests attending can also enjoy a special three course meal in our restaurant Talia.

Royal Navy Veteran Talk - Thursday 5 March, 2.30pm

We will be joined by Commander Steve Gilbert, who will be talking about his extensive career in the Royal Navy and his service during the Falklands War. This promises to be a fascinating and informative afternoon.

Seated Tai Chi – Monday 9th March, 11.15am

Join us for a relaxing seated tai chi taster session hosted by Paul Nathan of Heaven & Earth. Seated tai chi offers a low-impact, accessible way for individuals with limited mobility, injuries or fatigue to improve physical and mental health, with benefits including improved balance, better posture, pain management, and increased cognitive function.

Crystals Art Class – Tuesday 10th March, 3.00pm

Join us for a relaxing and creative crystal art class where you’ll create your very own drinks coaster infused with the natural beauty and energy of crystals. Families and friends of our guests are invited to join us for an exclusive three course meal whilst enjoying a live performance from John Logan. John will be singing songs by Sammy Davis, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin and Michael Bublé.

British Army Veterans Talk – Thursday 19th March, 2.30pm

We will be joined by D Company Opfor Demonstration Team, who will be hosting an event to show and talk about army rations. Those attending are encouraged to interact with the various ration examples while the team offer insights into their use. Easter Larder Pop-Up – Monday 23 March, 2.30pm

Greyhound Petting – Animal Visit – Tuesday 24th March, 2.30pm

Join us and meet Jenny from Northumberland Greyhound Rescue, a local registered charity run by volunteers. Jenny will bring along some of the charity’s beautiful greyhounds for you to meet and pet. A relaxed and heart-warming afternoon for animal lovers.

Drumming Session - Thursday 26 March, 3.00pm

Join us for a drumming session hosted by Avery’s Angels. This uplifting session explores the benefits of drumming, including the release of feel-good endorphins, pain relief, a boost to the immune system, improved balance of body and mind, and an increased sense of connectivity. Join us for a fun-filled, interactive panto presented by Northeast Producers. Jack and Jim are two window cleaners entertaining audiences with hilarious stories from their lunch breaks and the things they witness on their rounds. We’d like to invite the local community to join us for a fantastic clothing event hosted by Best Buy Clothing, a premium mobile clothing shop for ladies and gents. Gosling Raptors – Thursday 23 April, 2.00pm

Gosling Raptors will be visiting Wentworth Grange for an engaging bird of prey session where you can hold and learn about some of their amazing birds. Our Chosen Charities

This year our fundraising will be supporting Heel & Toe Children’s Charity and Dragonfly Cancer Trust - two incredible charities.

Heel & Toe Children’s Charity

Heel & Toe Children's Charity provides a range of therapies to children with physical disabilities and complex needs at our centres in County Durham. Any child aged between 6 months to 19 years old from any part of the North East area is eligible to apply for a consultation. We provide Conductive Education, Hydrotherapy, Massage Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy. Our centres are open Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. Heel & Toe are not government funded and rely solely on donations and fundraising.

Dragonfly Cancer Trust

Dragonfly Cancer Trust work with specialist cancer treatment centres, hospitals, hospices and families across the UK providing support for young patients with terminal cancer who receive palliative treatment. Our focus is on memory making, helping young patients to make each moment matter with their loved ones. We do this by providing cash gifts, keepsakes and creative therapy. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are continuously inspired by the young people we support.
