Public Events

At Wentworth Grange we regularly host a range of social events, some of which are aimed at raising funds for local charities. They are ‘ticketed’ events that are open to the families of our guests and the general public. All of our upcoming events are detailed below and will be updated on a regular basis - please be sure to keep checking here for further information.

Recurring Events:

Knit & Natter – Every Monday, 3.00pm (except the first and last Monday of the month)

Join us for a cosy afternoon of knitting, chatting, and community. A welcoming and relaxed session for all abilities. This event is free for non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Hairdresser Visits – Every Monday

Join us every Monday for a visit to the on-site hairdresser. Whether it’s a fresh cut, a tidy trim, or a lovely blow-dry, this relaxed weekly service is a great way to feel refreshed and well looked after in a friendly setting.

Snug Library – Mondays & Thursdays, 11.00am

We’d like to invite the local community to pop in and enjoy our very own Snug Library. Visitors are welcome to choose a book to sign out and enjoy at home - once read, simply return it, sign it back in and choose another.​

Gentle Seated Pilates - Every Tuesday, 11.00am

Join us for a gentle seated chair pilates session for older adults with mobility issues, followed by coffee, cake and socialising. Tickets cost just £5pp to non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com or by using the button at the bottom of this page. All proceeds will be donated to our two chosen charities. Additional beverages will be available to purchase from the bar.

Guided Meditation - Every Wednesday, 3pm & Friday 2pm

Join us every Wednesday for guided meditation sessions designed to help you unwind, relax and reset in a calm and welcoming environment. It’s the perfect way to unwind, reset your mind, and reconnect with yourself.

Charity Coffee Morning – First Thursday of every month, 10.30am

Join us for our monthly charity coffee morning in the beautiful, newly refurbished front lounge and enjoy coffee, tea and cake while spending time with residents, families and friends. All proceeds will be donated to Dragonfly Cancer Trust, and places are £5 including coffee/tea and cake; bookings can be made by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Tastes of the World – Three Course Lunch - First Thursday of every month, 12.00pm

Join us for a ‘Tastes of the Worldthree course lunch prepared by our talented chefs. Each month will feature food inspired by a different country, offering something new to enjoy each time. Tickets are £16pp for non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Cheese & Wine - Last Thursday of Every Month, 4.30pm

Enjoy a relaxed monthly afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes, fruit, cheese, and tea or coffee — all freshly prepared by our talented chefs.

Smile Through Sport – Every Friday at 10.00am (Hampton House)

Join us weekly for Smile Through Sport, a movement-based activity designed to keep residents active and engaged. These fun and inclusive sessions are delivered in a relaxed group setting. Places are free and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com

Crochet & Chit Chat – Last Monday of the Month, 3.00pm

Come along and join Lynn as she teaches guests some basic crochet stitches to create a classic granny square. A relaxed and friendly session suitable for beginners and those with some experience. All materials and equipment are provided, and refreshments are included. Tickets are £5pp for non-residents and can be booked by emailing eventsteamwg@outlook.com.

Beauty Room Treatments

Our beauty room offers a range of relaxing and wellbeing-focused treatments designed to help you unwind and feel refreshed. Treatments available include back massage, hand massage, feet massage, Indian head massage, reflexology, manicure, file and polish, fingernail trim, and reiki.
To arrange a treatment, please speak to a member of the wellbeing team.

Unique Music- Hampton House – Tuesdays at 1.30pm - 21/04

Join us for an entertaining and inclusive music session with Gary Bowden of Unique Music. These sessions facilitate music and community arts activities for people of all ages and abilities, encouraging participation in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

The Hexham Uketeers - Tuesdays at 3.00pm - 14/04, 05/05, 16/06

Greyhound Petting - 05/05 (2.00pm), 09/06 (2.30pm), 07/07 (2.30pm)

Join us and meet Jenny from Northumberland Greyhound Rescue, a local registered charity run by volunteers. Jenny will bring along some of the charity’s beautiful greyhounds for you to meet and pet — a relaxed and heart-warming afternoon for animal lovers.

Bridge Club – Mondays at 11.00am - 20/04, 18/05, 15/06

Join us for a fun bridge taster-session hosted by Hexham Bridge Club. Learn some of the basics and relax amongst wonderful company — no previous experience is required, just come along and enjoy the games.

Hot Coffee and Cakes - Throughout April and May. Thursday 3rd to Thursday 10th April

Pop in and join us for spring-inspiredcoffee and cakes, including a special Easter-themed week in April. Enjoy a wonderful coffee and a delicious slice of cake for just £5. No booking is required – just pop in with friends or family and enjoy. Other hot beverages and refreshments will be available to purchase.

Gosling Raptors – Thursday 23rd April, 2.00pm

Gosling Raptors will be visiting Wentworth Grange for an engaging bird of prey session where you can hold and learn about some of their amazing birds. Anything Goes – Live Vocal Quartet - Tuesday 28th April & Tuesday 26th May, 3.00pm

Sandy Smith – Live 60s Singing – Thursday 30th April, 3.00pm

Oliver! - Family Panto - Thursday 10th December, 3.30pm

Bring the whole family for some festive panto fun, presented by the very talented Northeast Producers. Enjoy the popular tale of the boy who asked for more, as Oliver Twist encounters shady characters including the Artful Dodger, Fagin and Bill Sykes. Packed full of music and laughter for all ages. Our Chosen Charities

This year our fundraising will be supporting Heel & Toe Children’s Charity and Dragonfly Cancer Trust - two incredible charities.

Heel & Toe Children’s Charity

Heel & Toe Children's Charity provides a range of therapies to children with physical disabilities and complex needs at our centres in County Durham. Any child aged between 6 months to 19 years old from any part of the North East area is eligible to apply for a consultation. We provide Conductive Education, Hydrotherapy, Massage Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy. Our centres are open Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. Heel & Toe are not government funded and rely solely on donations and fundraising.

Dragonfly Cancer Trust

Dragonfly Cancer Trust work with specialist cancer treatment centres, hospitals, hospices and families across the UK providing support for young patients with terminal cancer who receive palliative treatment. Our focus is on memory making, helping young patients to make each moment matter with their loved ones. We do this by providing cash gifts, keepsakes and creative therapy. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are continuously inspired by the young people we support.
