What Makes Wentworth Grange Unique
Wentworth Grange has been providing exceptional care for decades. Our unique approach combines residential, nursing and specialist dementia care with the flexibility to support changing needs, allowing many guests to remain in familiar surroundings throughout their journey.
Pioneers in Nursing Care
Wentworth Grange was the pioneer of nursing care in Northumberland. My parents recognised the lack of nursing provision in care homes and raised the issue with Northumberland County Council. They later succeeded in having the matter raised in Parliament.
Their efforts helped pave the way for nursing homes across Northumberland.
Wentworth Grange became the first registered nursing home in Northumberland and, as a result, remains the most experienced.
A Complete Range of Care
Wentworth Grange not only provides nursing care but has also retained its status as a provider of residential care.
Our services extend beyond residential and nursing care. For many years, we have also provided residential care for people living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia in a dedicated building within our four-acre estate, separate from Wentworth Grange itself.
This single-storey accommodation, known as Hampton House, is designed for a limited number of guests, with just 14 places available.
We firmly believe that smaller settings provide a better quality of life. By caring for only a small number of people living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, we are able to deliver more personalised, attentive and compassionate care.
Set within our beautiful gardens, all 14 guests enjoy peaceful surroundings and wonderful views.
Continuity of Care
Hampton House's dedicated team is supported by our experienced Nursing Team.
Although some of our nurses are Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMH), we do not provide dementia nursing. Instead, we offer residential Alzheimer's and dementia care supported by general nursing.
This enables us to provide a service that is unique to Wentworth Grange.
One of the greatest benefits of our approach is the continuity of care we provide. Once someone becomes a guest at Wentworth Grange, they should never need to relocate simply because their care needs change.
In many cases, if a guest's care requirements increase, they can remain in their chosen room or apartment while the additional care they need is brought to them. This provides reassurance, familiarity and stability for both guests and their families.
Flexible Care That Adapts to Changing Needs
As guests' needs evolve, our flexible approach allows them to receive the most appropriate level of care. Some guests have transferred from Hampton House to Wentworth Grange as their care needs have increased, while others have moved from Wentworth Grange to Hampton House following improvements in their health.
This seamless approach ensures that every guest receives the right care, at the right time, in an environment where they feel safe, comfortable and supported.
